Obama's Legacy for Startups

“[I]t has been the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things—some celebrated, but more often men and women obscure in their labor—who have carried us up the long rugged path towards prosperity and freedom.”_ – President Obama, Inaugural Address, January 21, 2009

As the 44th President of the United States bid farewell to the nation in his final public address this week, we couldn’t help but get a little nostalgic as we recalled everything this administration has done over the past 8 years to prioritize entrepreneurship and support startups in this country, and around the globe.

GAN had the opportunity to contribute to some of President Obama’s initiatives – and in the spirit of nostalgia, we wanted to take a quick walk down memory lane to reminisce and celebrate some of the great things GAN was involved with during the Obama administration:

As a community, we are so grateful for all that this administration has done over the past 8 years to prioritize entrepreneurship in both national and global agendas.

In his 2015 address to entrepreneurs in Nairobi, Kenya during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, Obama said “Entrepreneurship brings down barriers between communities and cultures and builds bridges that help us take on common challenges together." Thank you, Mr. President, we couldn’t agree more.
